More than 4,000 committed HOBY volunteers plan and execute HOBY programs each year, serving both at the local HOBY affiliate level and on HOBY’s Board of Trustees. Due to the selfless efforts of volunteers and the contributions of generous donors, more than 9,000 students participate in HOBY programs annually.

Local Affiliate Seminars

The HOBY Affiliate Network

Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) programs are realized through an extensive volunteer network of thousands of dedicated individuals. In the United States, these volunteers are organized into HOBY Affiliate with non-profit status and are led by a volunteer board of directors.

The HOBY Affiliate Corporation President oversees the activities of the Affiliate and its program chairpersons, including: Leadership Seminar Chairpersons for the annual HOBY Leadership Seminars; CLeW Directors for the Community Leadership Workshops (CLeWs); and Alumni Advisors for year-round alumni activities. In addition, each chairperson oversees a committee including such volunteers as the Directors of Recruitment who support schools and students to register for the Leadership Seminars.

The U.S. HOBY Affiliates are divided into regions and served by HOBY International staff. Each region’s Director of National Programs provides guidance and ensures continuity, permanence, growth and quality of HOBY programs.
